Lebanese law enforcers prevented an attempted terrorist attack on board an airliner that was en route to the United Arab Emirates, originating from Australia. This was reported on the Twitter page of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lebanon, Nukhad Mashnuk.
"We thwarted an attempt by a Lebanese suicide bomber to carry out a terrorist attack on board an aircraft that was flying from Australia to Abu Dhabi," the minister said.
It is not clear whether the aircraft had a scheduled stop in Lebanon. Details of the incident are not disclosed yet.
