Over one hundred schools of the Donetsk People's Republic failed to start the school year because of the constant danger of shelling. This was reported by the Minister of Education and Science of the Donetsk Peoples Republic Larisa Polyakova.

"Today, 111 schools could not open because they are located close to the line of demarcation or not  yet rebuilt," Polyakova said, stressing that all the schoolchildren of the republic went to school.

On September 1, the school year in the schools of the Donetsk Peoples Republic will start training more than 142 thousand students, and for them almost 500 schools open their doors.

Recall that on August 23, the Contact Group on the settlement of the conflict between the Donbass and Ukraine at their last meeting in Minsk agreed to a ceasefire from August 25. The European Union expressed the opinion that a new, so-called "school" truce in the Donbass might become a chance to end the war between the Donbass and Ukraine.
