An unnamed French official has revealed that 700 French nationals, among them 500 children, are currently living in ISIS-held territories in Syria and Iraq.
He revealed that in total that around 2,000 French nationals had gone to Syria and Iraq to live and that half of the 500 children were born in these countries.
This comes as last month, France’s Interior Minister Gerard Collomb, said 271 terrorists had returned to France with a terror attack risk being “very high” the country.
France has been part of the US-led coalition that has been striking ISIS in Syria and Iraq since 2014.
