One day after Iraqi Kurdistan conducted an unconstitutional independence referendum, the military's of Iraq and Turkey have begun joint military drills in an aim to intimidate the Kurdistan Regional Government from declaring independence.
Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said yesterday, as reported by Fort Russ News, that Iraq and Turkey will conduct joint military drills in a move to strengthen relations between Baghdad and Ankara.
"Iraq will participate in joint military exercises with the Turkish army," he said yesterday.
It remains to be see how the Kurdistan Regional Government will react to the joint military drills.
