Reports have emerged from the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) linked media that Syrian jets have targeted units belonging to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Deir Ezzor countryside.

According to a reporter for ANHA, Syrian warplanes struck the SDF's positions in the Deir ez-Zor industrial area, injuring six fighters. There has been no reported deaths.

This cannot be independently verified by Fort Russ News at this moment, but if it proves to be true, it comes as the Syrian government and SDF have engaged in hostile rhetoric.

Political and media adviser to Syrian President Assad, Bouthaina Shaaban, said in an exclusive interview with Lebanon-based Arabic-language al-Manar television network on Friday that pro-government forces are prepared to fight the SDF in Deir Ezzor and liberate the entirety of Syria.

“Whether it’s the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), or ISIS or any illegitimate foreign force in the country... we will fight and work against them so our land is freed completely from any aggressor,” she said.

Meanwhile a commander with the SDF, Ahmed Abu Khawla, had earlier said that his fighting force would not “allow” the Syrian forces to get to the eastern bank of the river, as reported earlier by Fort Russ News

Hostilities are set to become stronger as the race to capture oil rich regions from ISIS occurs between Syrian government forces and the US-backed SDF.
