Dubai-based Orient News has claimed on its Twitter account that the US-led coalition has dropped supplies of water and food to an ISIS convoy in eastern Syria.
The original tweet by Orient News came with the announcement of the airdrop being "Breaking News".
The claim by Orient News prompted Army Colonel Ryan Dillon, Spokesman for the US-led coalition against ISIS, to tweet that:
"Complete Rubbish! FALSE. @CJTFOIR NOT providing food/water to #ISIS. Coalition mission is clear: #defeatdaesh!"
Despite the denial by the spokesman and his clear statement on the mission being to defeat ISIS, this does not explain coalition airstrikes against Syrian Army positions when they are battling against ISIS.
Orient News are yet to provide evidence for their claim and it cannot be independently verified by Fort Russ News.
