The Syrian Army have progressed in eastern Damascus countryside against jihadist forces and has liberated a new town.
The liberation of Um Adn from US-backed terrorists has now brought the Syrian Army within 9km from reaching Rawdat al-Shih.
If Syrian Army units in Um Adn are able to reach Rawdat al-Shih, militants will become trapped as pro-government forces would have created a besieged pocket.
It remains to be seen whether militants will empty their positions in the west before it becomes besieged or attempt to a counterattack to recapture Um Adn.
