At least 6 Hezbollah fighters were killed after the US Air Force reportedly bombed their positions in Palmyra countryside in central Syria.

The incident occurred when the US Air Force bombed ISIS positions next to T3 Pumping station in Palmyra, however, its airstrikes also hit the nearby position of Hezbollah units, killing 6 of their fighters who were thwarting an ISIS assault.

The US Army, however, denied the claims. Its spokesman for the Syria operations, Ryan Dillon, said on his Twitter account that the US forces only direct their strikes against ISIS terrorists in the Syrian provinces of Deir Ez Zour and Raaqah, and the areas east of Euphrates.

It is noteworthy that in the past, US Air Force targeted positions of Syrian Army and its allies on multiple occasions, especially in times of their huge military gains.

The Lebanese movement Hezbollah fights alongside the Syrian Army and has played a rather important role in combating ISIS and other terrorist groups.
