A Russian helicopter has made an emergency landing in the eastern countryside of the Syrian province of Hama, the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The Ministry also affirmed that the helicopter was not shot down by ISIS.
Earlier, Amaq, an ISIS media outlet, claimed that the terrorist group had shot down a Russian military helicopter near the government-held area of Al Sheikh Hilal in Hama province.
According to the field reports, the helicopter had been escorting a Mi-8 transport helicopter with the servicemen of the Russian Center for Syrian Reconciliation on board.
“The lives of the crew members are not in danger. Based on information from the crew’s report and after the inspection of the vehicle, there was no fire impact discovered anywhere on the helicopter,” the Russian military said.
