At least four Turkish soldiers were killed and five others left wounded after a bomb went off in the town of Yuksekova, located in the southeastern province of Hakkari near the Iranian border, on Wednesday.
According to Hurriyet Daily, the bomb was planted by members of the outlawed Kurdish separatist group PKK.
The source added that the authorities sent a large number of armored vehicles to the region to hunt down the PKK militants.
This is not the first time that Yuksekova was struck by PKK. On July 17th, a bomb blast hit a military vehicle, wounding 17 soldiers.
