KIEV, Ukraine. President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has met with the US State Department Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker.
It is noted that Poroshenko thanked Volker for "efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability in the Donbass", as well as "ending Russian aggression" against Ukraine.
The State Department representative evaluated the extension of the law on the special status of the Donbass as "a clear signal in support of the true devotion of the Ukrainian side to a peaceful settlement."
The interlocutors discussed security in the region and noted the fundamental importance of ensuring proper implementation of the Minsk agreements, despite breaking the ceasefire on a daily basis.
