The King of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdul Aziz al Saud, arrived with the first ever visit of Russian-Saudi relations in Moscow.
The head of the Middle Eastern state was met by the honor guard of the Preobrazhensky regiment and the orchestra, as well as a Russian delegation, including Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mikhail Bogdanov.
The visit of Salman bin Abdul Aziz al Saud will last until October 7.
According to Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President, at the bilateral meeting of heads the two discussed the question of the world oil market, what is happening in the Middle East and North Africa with an emphasis on conflict resolution in the region.
Peskov did not rule out that the interlocutors touched upon issues of military-technical cooperation.
On October 6, the Saudi King will talk with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, where joint projects in trade, economy, industry, energy and agriculture will be discussed.
It is expected that a number of agreements will be signed following the visit. In particular, it is expected that the Russian Direct Investment Fund together with the Middle East Funds, including the Saudi Arabia Foundation, will announce the terms of financing investment projects in the field of transport infrastructure in Russia.
The delegation of the King includes one thousand people. They are placed in the 5-star hotel rooms of the Kremlin and others on the Red Square. In many rooms, the atmosphere has been changed to a more familiar for guests - oriental style.
