Units of the Syrian Army have foiled an ISIS infiltration attempt.
Earlier on Monday, ISIS terrorists tried to assault Syrian Army checkpoints in the surrounding areas of Sukhneh, a town and the now former local ISIS hub located east of Palmyra.
According to the field reports, the army surveillance system was carefully monitoring the convoy of vehicles that belonged to ISIS and was moving from the depths of the Syrian Desert along the axis of the third station and was heading towards the town of Sukhneh.
Backed by the Syrian Air Force, army units later dealt a severe blow to ISIS terrorists southwest of Sukhneh, as dozens of them were killed, and at least seven of their vehicles destroyed.
