TEHRAN, Iran. “The Americans are in the process of destroying the Axis of Resistance and extending their threats to the depths of Iranian territory. Mohammad Bagheri, head of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.
He added that the main goal of US, through its new strategy, is to overthrow the Iranian leadership, as was also indicated in recent statements by the US Secretary of State.
“Should the sanctions against the Iranian nuclear program will go on, even if under other pretexts, the agreement will become meaningless”, Bagheri said, adding Iran will withdraw from the nuclear deal, should there be any more sanctions.
He also touched the crisis in the post-referendum Kurdistan province of Iraq, saying that the awareness of the Iraqi people and their government prevented the Americans from dividing the country.
He, however, said that the border Iran shares with the Iraqi province of Kurdistan will soon be reopened.
