November 1 , 2017 - Fort Russ News -

Revenues from air transit fees in Ukraine have dropped to 20% of their pre-2014 level. This was announced at a press conference in Kiev by Vladimir Shulmister, the first Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine in 2014-2016.

One of the main reasons for this is a reduction in air traffic after the crash of Malaysian Boeing MH-17 in 2014.

"The first reason is geopolitical, MH-17, the closed sky over the east of the country. In this regard, most international airlines have restructured their routes and today avoid Ukrainian airspace. The Ukrainian authorities are doing all they can in order to bring this traffic back." Schulmeister assured.
