April 6th, 2017 - Fort Russ News -

The first of eight captured ISIS suspects has been arrested for the duration of a long-term investigation, by the St. Petersburg Court. The suspect, Atabek Rustamov of Kyrgyztan, is accused of recruiting citizens into the ranks of Al-Nusra an ISIS.

Rustamov, who denies his involvement, will be in custody for the next two months. With the use of an interpreter, he has stated that he "poses no threat to public safety" and has not been involved in any criminal activity. A background investigation posits the contrary - Rustamov, as part of a a number of groups of individuals detained since November 2015, has been involved in the recruitment of persons who originate in Central Asia, into the ranks of terrorist organisations. The detained are similarly accused of facilitating such recruitment in other countries as well.

The investigation has not confirmed a link between the detained group and the man who carried out the St. Petersburg on April 3rd, 2017.

The men in this video resided together in an apartment.

- "What are you doing here?" - asks the FSB
- "Living!" was the response.

The FSB proceeded to demand their cellphones and computers, on which ISIS recruitment videos are shown.
