UKIP wants to build profoundly mutually beneficial relations with Russia, said in an interview Elizabeth Jones, potential challenger to the party leader's office.

"The relationship between Russia and Britain has been hindered by two factors: the United Kingdom is a magnet for many oligarchs and is part of NATO. The first issue can be solved with the help of the law on income crimes, but it is unlikely we will leave NATO. In addition, it is a delicate moment for relations with Russia, considered as a single party country, which cannot withstand criticism”, Jones said.

"UKIP's plan is to reduce friction and build a deep relationship between our courageous countries," the representative of the Independence Party said.

"We need Russia for Brexit. Russia needs the United Kingdom, in order to be able to work in mutual benefit, for large business projects and civil engineering”, she added.

"Russia needs infrastructure, Great Britain would like to contribute to this. Bilateral trade agreements are a good starting point, as soon as we leave the EU. If we talk about fishing, let's say goodbye to EU trademarks and sanctions. Let’s reach out to Moscow!", Jones concluded.
