Recep Tayyip Erdogan, head of the Turkish regime, said his army will resume the operation Euphrates Shield and expand its presence by occupying parts of northern Syria.

“With the operation Euphrates Shield we will stab the very heart of terrorism in Syria. In the near future, we will take new and important steps on this issue,” said Erdogan.

He also pointed out that his country is subjected to intense attacks on all levels, claiming that several parties are trying to encircle Turkey through PKK separatists, stressing his army will soon eliminate its presence in Turkey and will continue to pursue it in Syria and Iraq until all of its traces are gone.

Earlier, the Turkish regime has already announced its plans to carry out another batch of operation against Kurdish forces operating in northern Syria, known as “Euphrates Shield”, with the purpose of ensuring border security between the countries.

During his visit to Saudi Arabia on July 23rd, Erdogan held a discussion with Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz on “combating terrorism.”

On March 29th, the Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim announced the end of the operation “Euphrates Shield”, saying that Turkey might decide to carry out another operation against terrorist groups in the future, although under a different name.
