Military forces of the Yemeni Resistance have confirmed the downing of an unmanned Saudi reconnaissance aircraft in the southern Saudi province of Najran.
The deputy military spokesman, Brigadier Aziz Rashid, said that despite the wreckage, his forces were able to retrieve a lot of crucial data.
According to Rashid, the downing revealed a lot of useful information, and provided maps of sites and positions that were to be targeted inside Yemen, in addition to information and pictures taken of the Yemeni Resistance forces. The information is very crucial for the Resistance as it alerted it of making certain moves that could have otherwise had disastrous consequences.
He added that the aircraft received its fatal blow by an anti-aircraft guided missile, with the key role being played by radar that spotted the aircraft, pointing out that it is not the first time his forces shot down any of those types of aircrafts.
Previously, the Yemeni Resistance also downed at least 15 Saudi-led coalition helicopters that were flying over Yemen. This time, however, they managed to down an aircraft that was flying over the territory of Saudi Arabia.
So far, the Saudi-led anti-Yemeni coalition has used multiple types of reconnaissance planes during their campaign.
