On November 12, the Zaporozhya atom power plant disconnected the sixth unit from the system for its planned overhaul, the press service of the state-owned enterprise Energoatom reported.

"On November 12, 2017, at 00:02, the power unit No. 6 of Zaporiozhya APP was disconnected from the power grid and put into scheduled overhaul." The repair will take until January 17, 2018, "the company said.

Currently, 4 power units are in operation at the Zaporozhya APP. The total capacity of the generators is 3.7 thousand MW. The radiation background in the area of the Zaporozhaya APP location and in the sanitary protection zone (area around the APP" with a radius of 2.5 km) is 8-12 micro-roentgen per hour.

We recall that in May of this year the power unit No. 1 of the Zaporozhya plant was automatically turned off. Later the plant specialists disconnected the sixth power unit from the network to solve technical problems. In April, it was also reported about the shutdown of the power unit at the Zaporozhya Atom Power Plant.
