The basic unit of currency in the Lugansk People's Republic starting March 1st, 2017 will be the ruble, the corresponding resolution was published Monday on the website of the Council of Ministers of the LPR.

"The Council of Ministers of the Lugansk People's Republic decides: 1. To establish that the basic unit of currency in the territory of the Lugansk People's Republic is the Russian ruble"., according to the decision of February 21st. 

The website reported that the decision shall enter into force on March 1st.
