The next step after the Russian recognition of documents of the LNR and DNR may be the provision to the republics of serious military-technical assistance. This was stated by noted political scientist Vyacheslav Nikonov on broadcast talk show "60 Minutes" on TV channel "Russia 1".

"Russia, in my opinion, we recognize, is quite capable to provide military assistance to the republics [of DNR/LNR] and do it quite openly, in the amounts that will be needed to ensure the sovereignty of these states. I mean those weapons systems, which, of course, have the republics already, because there is no Russian military aid", - said Nikonov.

According to him, the recognition of documents is not the last step by Moscow and as such Kiev authorities endlessly talk about the possibility of large-scale Russian invasion becoming a reality.

"It's very possible that, in the DNR, there may appear some Russian ..."

"Volunteers!" - Eagerly stated Vladimir Zhirinovsky, noted LDPR (Russian nationalist party) leader.

"Volunteers", - Nikonov readily agrees. Nikonov continued:

"Volunteers in large quantities and more serious volunteers than those who are there. Yet there are many things that can happen."
