Iraqi forces are involved in heavy clashes with ISIS terrorists in Al Resalah neighbourhood the Old City of Mosul.
According to the field reports, the Iraqi forces are cleansing the area of terrorists and have so far gained control of the mill and the Rashidi gas station in Molouwathi area, located west of Mosul.
The gains come after Iraqi forces repelled an ISIS attack in the right side of the connector, following the detonation of a car bomb.
The Iraqi federal Police chief, Raed Shakir Jawdat, confirmed the liberation of grain silos platform and Al Basha mosque, Al Adalah street and Bab Serai and Al Arbaa marketplaces in the old city of Mosul.
In an interview with the press correspondents, Jawdat spoke about the evacuation of displaced persons from Bab Al Toub and Bab Al Beid, which is being directed towards the main bus and a train station in Mosul.
It is said ISIS is currently resorting to car bombs and bulldozers in its fight against the Iraqi forces.
Meanwhile, the exodus of civilians from Mosul is continuing. The process turned out to be rather difficult due to the security risks posed by ISIS terrorists. According to United Nations estimations as many as 255,000 people have been displaced since last October.
