Units of the Syrian Army are continuing their operations against ISIS and the aligned terrorist groups in the eastern province of Deir Ez Zour.

Earleir on Thursday, army units were engaged in violent clashes with ISIS-affiliated terrorist groups in the area of Huweijet Sakr.

After the clashes, Syrian Army established control over several new sites in the area, killing scores of the terrorists and destroying their belongings in the process.

On the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, army units advanced in direction of the northeastern countryside of the province towards the area of Al Jadeeda, destroying the last gathering of ISIS terrorists in the surrounding areas of the town of Khasham.

In addition, Syrian Air Force and the Army’s artillery units carried out series of intense strikes, targeting ISIS dens in the neighborhoods of Al Hamidiyeh, Al Aridi, Al Jbeiliyeh, Kannamat and Khassarat in Deir Ez Zour city, killing a whole bunch of terrorists and destroying their arms and ammunition stockpiles.

Meanwhile, local sources said that eight ISIS terrorists were killed in internal clashes between  ISIS and various affiliated groups. Six of the killed terrorists are said to be foreign nationals.

The sources added that dozens of ISIS and terrorists fled the southeastern countryside of Deir Ez Zour province in the past 24 hours, three of their leaders including.
