The Ministry of Emergency Situations’ Main Directorate for Saint Petersburg has published a list of victims of the April 3rd metro bombing. This latest casualty count numbers 51 injured and 11 dead. 

Earlier, the National Anti-Terrorism Committee had reported 11 dead and 45 injured. 

“Please note that this list is current as of 3:00 A.M., April 4th, and will be updated as information comes in,” the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ statement reads.


On Monday, April 3rd, at around 14:30 Moscow time, an improvised explosive device detonated between the Sennaya Square and Tekhnologichesky Institut-2 metro stations in St. Petersburg. Another bomb was then found and defused at Vosstaniya Square station. 

Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case under the terrorist act article, but will also investigate other scenarios of the incident. Three days of mourning have been declared in the city.
