The first Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, Franz Klintsevich, commented that the Ukraine is preparing a draft law on the legal circulation of weapons in the country. According to him, the Ukrainian government is trying to shirk responsibility.
"Poroshenko works by an old Soviet mentality: "If a booze party cannot be prevented, then one must lead it. "
"They are attempting to simply make this activity legal, as the circulation of weapons among the civilian population in the Ukraine is substantial; up to seven million guns are in circulation. Our special services have found that these weapons are making their way into Romania and Poland, and then the rest of Europe. If this continues, Europe will have a big problem in the near future, when it comes to illegal arms."- he said.
Klintsevich noted that the free circulation of weapons in Ukraine will also lead to an increase in the number of crimes in the country.
"Should this be allowed to exist out in the open, eventually these weapons will start to shoot. The shooting will take place among peaceful suburbs also."
Ed: Hand guns in Ukraine are currently illegal, except for target shooting with special permits.
