Vladimir Kogan, Russian businessman and a senior adviser to the Russian President Vladimir Putin on affairs involving military and technical cooperation, said Russia will, over the course of the year, supply Iraq with a large number of T-90 S/SK tanks.
While speaking to the Russian newspaper Izvestia, he noted that a “huge deal” was recently made with Iraq and includes a shipment of a great number of tanks.
Although he said the exact number and value cannot be specified right now, he nonetheless pointed out that Russia aims to deliver “several hundred tanks in scope of the deal, itself worth more than one billion US Dollars, while also noting that this will only be the first batch and that few more are scheduled to follow later.”
Previously, the Russian media has already revealed that Russia aims to supply the Iraqi Army with several new T 90 S/SK battle tanks by the end of the year.
