Democrat Senator Bernie Sanders does not exclude his participation in the presidential elections in 2020, the Hill reports with reference to his assistant. The source of the publication said that the 75-year-old Democrat believes that he deserves the right to stand for election.
Moreover, Sanders is confident that he could have succeeded in something that Hillary Clinton did not - to defeat Donald Trump.
Sanders himself hasn’t publicly said if he intends to run for president again. Jeff Weaver, who served as Sanders's campaign manager said that Sanders is “keeping the door open” for a second White House run.
“The last thing he's going to do is step aside and let Joe Biden take it,” the Sanders associate said. Polls suggest that Sanders, along with Joe Biden, would have to be seen as favorites if they were to enter a 2020 race.
At the same time, there are also Democrats looking for fresh faces — such as Sen. Kamala Harris, the freshman California senator with a growing national presence.
Republicans say that Bernie’s age is a big factor factor. Sanders will be 78 in 2020.
What do you think, is that too old to run a successful presidential campaign?
