Forces of the US-led anti-ISIS international coalition carried out a raid to prevent the advance of a convoy of buses carrying ISIS terrorists and their families from Lebanon's Arsal province and the Syrian region of Western Qalamoun, to the town of Abu Kamal, located at the Syrian-Iraqi border, the coalition spokesman said.
“The convoy, which was moving in accordance with a truce agreement between Syrian government, Hezbollah and ISIS, and was heading towards the town of Abu Kamal, was denied access to its final destination in Deir Ez Zour province of Syria”, the coalition spokesman was heard saying.
Since Monday afternoon, convoys of buses carrying ISIS terrorists and their families are departing Jaroud Arsal and Western Qalamoun in order to head towards Abu Kamal, a town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ez Zour and a major provincial ISIS hub, following a truce agreement that allowed ISIS terrorists to flee to Deir Ez Zour in an exchange for completely moving away from the Syrian-Lebanese border and releasing the captured Lebanese soldiers.
