Valentina Matviyenko, speaker of the Russian parliament's upper house, said that there is no "logic"to locate UN peacekeepers at the Ukrainian-Russian border as suggested by the US State Department.
"I cannot see any logic in this suggestion," she told reporters.
This comes as earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin announced for the UN to be notified by the Foreign Ministry to deploy peacekeepers to Donbass.
"Today, in Donbass, at the line of engagement continues working the OSCE million," the speaker continued. "And peacekeepers are necessary there to provide security for OSCE, because OSCE does not have an option of armed guard for those who participate in the mission."
