As part of an investigation led by special prosecutor Robert Mueller, in the case of alleged Russian intervention in the presidential elections in the US in 2016 - the first warrant has been issued for the detention of Paul Manafort, the head of the election campaign of Donald Trump and the ex-political technologist for Ukraine's Victor Yanukovich.
Manafort and his former business partner, Rick Gates, were ordered to surrender to federal authorities, as part of an investigation by special attorney Robert Mueller.
The charges are the first in the investigation of special prosecutor Robert Mueller on the potential coordination between Russia and the campaign of Donald Trump. Details of the charge were not reported.
As expected, the detainees will be brought to trial, where they will hear the charges from the team of the special prosecutor.
Washington expects the first criminal charges related to Russian interference in the US presidential election in 2016 to be laid, although President Donald Trump again called the investigation "witch-hunting." The US special services have already stated that they will not stop their pursuit and have announced a series of high-profile arrests.
A reminder that the investigation into Paul Manafort focuses on a series of suspicious bank transfers in which offshore companies associated with him moved more than $ 3 million worldwide from 2012 to 2013, including money laundering for former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
