The Iraqi Parliament today voted in favour of a resolution which criminalizes displaying the flag of Israel.
“During today’s regular session, the House of Representatives voted in favour of criminalizing anyone who raises the flag of Israel in public places”, the Iraqi media quoted a parliamentary source as saying, noting that the resolution was proposed the head of the Shia Supreme Council.
Recently, lots of Kurdish demonstrators in the Kurdistan province of Iraq were spotted flying Israeli flags alongside the Kurdish ones, in particularly during the time of the Kurdistan independence referendum.
It is noteworthy that Israel was the only country in the world that openly supported Kurdistan's secession from Iraq, triggering a positive response among the Kurdistan officials.
