Syrian Forces are getting close to the ISIS hub of Abu Kamal.
Earlier on Tuesday, the army units, while backed by the Syrian Air Force, regained control over several sites in the town of Mahkan, located southeast of the now-liberated former ISIS capital of Mayadeen in direction of the town of Abu Kamal in the very east of Deir Ez Zour province.
Intense operations were also carried out in the surroundings of the town of Khasham, during which, scores of the terrorists were killed.
The army units have since begun advancing towards the village of Al Tabiyeh.
In the city of Deir Ez Zour, army units carried out heavy air and artillery strikes, targeting ISIS positions, centers and fortifications in the neighborhoods of Al Aridi, Kannamat, Khassarat, Al Ummal, Al Jbeiliyeh, Al Hamidiyeh and Al Sheikh Yassin.
According to the field reports, ISIS terrorists met with severe losses in terms of in personnel and equipment, in addition to destruction of their vehicles, arms and ammunition depots.
Meanwhile, local sources said 18 people (mostly civilians) managed to escape from an ISIS prison in the village of Al Jartha Al Sharqi, located southeast of the town of Mayadeen.
