Syrian Army has regained control over the village of Khasham, located in the northeastern countryside of Deir Ez Zour province, after carrying out operations aimed at eliminating the last gatherings and fortifications of ISIS terrorists east of the Euphrates River.

According to the field reports, the operations resulted in the killing of a great number of ISIS terrorists and destruction of the their vehicles.

The engineering units of the Syrian Army have already been dispatched to the scene and are dismantling the mines and explosive devices planted by ISIS terrorists in the streets, houses and the main square of the town.

Later, the army units made significant progress after clashing with ISIS terrorists in Huweijet Saker area and establishing control over several positions and buildings previously used by ISIS terrorists as fortifications.

In addition, the Syrian Air Force and artillery units destroyed ISIS fortifications and gatherings in Huweijet Saker and the neighborhoods of Al Hamidiyeh, Al Jabailiyeh, Al Ummal, Al Aridi and Kannamat in Deir Ez Zour city.

Meanwhile, local sources from the eastern countryside of Deir Ez Zour said that about 50 ISIS terrorists, along with their families, fled the local ISIS hub of Abu Kamal.
