Syrian Army units operating in the eastern province of Deir Ez Zour have destroyed several ISIS gatherings on both, the eastern and the western banks of the Euphrates River, hours after regaining control over strategic village of Husseiniyeh, located north of Deir Ez Zour city.
Southeast of the city, army units began their large-scale military operation, aimed at eradicating ISIS terrorists from the villages and towns located between the towns of Mayadeen and Al Murai’yia on the western bank of the Euphrates River.
Scores of ISIS terrorists were killed in the operations, in addition to destruction of their their fortifications, barricades, machine gun-equipped vehicles, as well as arms and ammunition depots.
To the east of the Euphrates, army units continued operations after regaining control over Al Husseiniyeh, and are now on their way to the villages of Shaqra and Al Jneiniyeh.
The army units also engaged in violent clashes with ISIS terrorists in surrounding areas of Al Sina’a neighborhood, killing a whole bunch of terrorists in the process.
Meanwhile, the Syrian Air Force and Artillery units carried out series of intense strikes against the positions of ISIS terrorists in Muhassan, Al Bouleil, Al Jneiniyeh and in the neighborhoods of Al Aridi , Al Orfi, Kannamat and Khassarat in Deir Ez Zour city.
A great number of ISIS positions and fortifications were destroyed in the strikes, in addition to dozens of the terrorists being killed.
Meanwhile, local sources confirmed that several ISIS leaders, top military commanders including, recently escaped from the eastern countryside of Deir Ez Zour province.
