Units of the Syrian Army have made new progress against ISIS terrorists in the southeastern countryside of Deir Ez Zour province, killing one of their most prominent leaders at the eastern bank of the Euphrates River.
According to the field reports, the Syrian Army has established control over new positions on the road linking the city of Deir Ez Zour with the eastern town of Mayadeen after carrying out series of operations against ISIS gatherings and dens.
On the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, army units were involved in fierce clashes with ISIS terrorists at the axis of Khasham-Hatlet Fouqani.
Scores of the terrorists were killed, including one of their top leaders known as “Abu Osama”, a Tunisian national.
The operations were also supported by the Syrian Air Force that carried out series of intense strikes, destroying ISIS positions in the villages and towns of Al Jnainieh, Al Husseinyieh, Hatla, Muhassan, Sa’alou, Al Taiba, Al Boulail and Al Salhiya.
Later, more airstrikes were carried out against ISIS positions in the neighborhoods of Kannamat, Al Hamidiyeh, Al Aridi, Khasarat and Al Sheikh Yaseen in Deir Ez Zour city, killing a great number of ISIS terrorists, in addition to destroying their vehicles and fortifications.
