More than a week after his alleged resignation while visiting Saudi Arabia, the outgoing Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri has finally spoken.
“My resignation was in the best interest of Lebanon,” Hariri began his speech.
In an interview with his Future Movement-affiliated TV network Al Moustakbal (Future) TV Hariri said he will return to Lebanon, adding that he might actually retract his resignation, provided there is an agreement on a policy of neutrality.
He also said that he is not afraid of losing his life (despite previously saying the opposite).
As usual, his statements were not missing his praises of the Saudi leadership.
“King Salman considers me a son of his and I respect him deeply and he also respects me. I agree with him on most issues, though I also disagree on some”, Hariri explained.
“The Syrian regime want me dead, along with several other parties”, he added.
It is noteworthy that Hariri is a staunch opponent of the Syrian government and has openly supported the armed terrorist groups fighting against the Syrian Army.
