DEIR EZZOR, Syria - With the latest advances by the Syrian Army and its allies, primarily the Lebanese resistance group Hezbollah and Iranian-organized Shi'ite militias, against ISIS, the terrorist group now only controls about 3% of Syria.
The Muraselon news portal released an up-to-date map of Syria yesterday showing in grey the little portion of the country that the country does control.
The red represents areas controlled by the Syrian and Iraqi governments, the yellow is Kurdish forces and the remaining colors being opposition forces, primarily Al-Qaeda terrorist linked groups.
Just some days ago the Syrian Army and its allies liberated the town of Albukamal in Syria's eastern Deir Ezzor province. This was the last major ISIS stronghold in Syria, and its rapid collapse demonstrates the demise of ISIS who once controlled large portions of Syria and Iraq.
