BELGRADE, Serbia - In another sign of growing political and military ties between the Republic of Serbia and the Russian Federation, Belgrade has named one of its centrally located parks after the Alexandrov Academic Ensemble of Song and Dance of the Russian Army, commonly known as the Red Army Choir.

Serbia is the last country on the Eurasian land-mass west of Ukraine to be neither a member of NATO nor a member of the EU. The present Progressive Party led government of Vucic is officially committed to joining the EU, but ordered his negotiators to walk away from recent actual talks. Numerous analysts have concluded that Serbia's official position is at odds with its relationship with EU negotiators. Western press has, over the last several years, begun the process of demonizing Vucic, in a manner consistent with that employed in the Color-Spring tactic.

Serbia and Russia have historical ties which predate modernity, since at least the 14th century, and going back as far as the 10th.
