Igor Dodon, President-elect of Moldova, promises to come to Moscow 

The winner of the presidential race in Moldova, leader of the Party of Socialists, Igor Dodon, said to Lente.ru on Monday, November 14, that his first visit as head of state will be to Russia.

"As I announced during the election campaign, my the first visit will be to Moscow, and I will keep my word," said Dodon.

On Monday night Dodon claimed victory in the direct election of the head of state. Later the same day, the Central Election Commission of the Republic officially recognized the winner according to the results of counting 100 percent of the protocols of the second round of voting, according to RIA Novosti.

Dodon addressed his rival Maya Sandu calling on her not to aggravate the situation after the elections. Sandu immediately after the close of polling stated that the presidential elections were poorly organized.

The second round of the direct presidential elections was Sunday November 13. According to the Central Election Commission, at the time the polls closed, more than 1,600,000 people had voted, making voter turnout 53.27 percent.
