The prospects for rebuilding national unity in Palestine, were discussed on Saturday in Moscow, when Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov met with a delegation of the Palestinian Fatah movement, headed by a member of its Central Committee, Azzam Ahmed, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in an official press release yesterday.
"The focus of the talks was the tasks of overcoming intra-divisions and restoring national unity. Bogdanov reaffirmed the principled position of Russia in support of the unity of Palestinian ranks on the platform of the Palestine Liberation Organization, which is indispensable to the practical realization of the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people to establish their own independent state ", the Russian Federation's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement published on its website.
The Fatah delegation arrived in Moscow to participate in an inter-Palestinian high-level meeting organized by the Institute of Oriental Studies for the 15th-17th of January.
