The Parliament of Transnistria is due to appeal to Russia for assistance in relation to Ukraine's plans to implement block posts to Moldova on its territory. In this way, the unrecognised republic will be entirely surrounded by an economic blockade - says Vice Speaker of the Transnistrian Parliament, Galina Antyufeeva.
"The situation is heating up and we intend on asking Russia for assistance" - she said.
Recently, the Press Secretary of the Ukrainian President, Irina Friza, has called on the Ukrainian Rada to recognise Transnistria as an "aggressor state", after it implemented Russia's tri-colour flag as the second official flag of the region.
Similarly, Antyufeeva reminded the Parliament of the words of King of Jordan, Abdullah II, to The Washington Post - "In the event that Russian - US relations do not improve in the near future, it is reasonable to suspect that after the fight for Libya and Syria, the wave of conflict will come to Moldova."
