KRASNODAR, June 28 - RIA Novosti. Germany and Russia disagree over the presence of NATO forces in the Baltic region, and the disagreements need to be discussed, said German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel at the Russian-German Conference of partner cities in Krasnodar.
"As for the presence of NATO in the Baltic countries near the Russian border, as mentioned by Mr. Lavrov, we essentially have variant opinions, but we must discuss them," he said.
According to Gabriel, "4.5 thousand NATO soldiers in the Baltic countries do not represent the potential for aggression against Russia."
