More than 200 people, 34 journalists including, were arrested today by Erdogan regime in Turkey.

The arrested are said to be associated with the exiled Turkish preacher Fethullah Gulen and his movement.

Earlier today, Turkish security forces launched an operation and arrested at least 115 people, the Turkish website ODA TV reports.

It is noteworthy that Turkish regime accused Gulen and his movement of being behind the attempted coup last year in July, a thing that Gulen himself strongly denies.

Since July 2016, Turkish regime used the coup attempt incident as an opportunity and an excuse to carry out repressive policies against its political opponents.

So far, several large-scale arrests and detentions of tens of thousands of people belonging to state and military institutions, have been made, in addition to severely limiting freedom of press by closing down large number of newspapers, websites and TV stations.

Recently, the Erdogan regime also removed Darwin’s theory of evolution from the Turkish public schools in favour of teaching jihad.
