From August 1st, 2017, many categories of Ukrainian servicemen will see an increase in their salaries, advisor to the President of Ukraine Yury Biryukov reports on his Facebook page.

In addition, he noted that the size of the bonus for service in the "ATO" ( the so-called anti-terrorist operation - ed )zone has been increased.

At the moment the minimum salary of Ukrainian contractors is 7,000 hryvnia (about 230 Euros) per month, and the soldiers of the UAF on the first line of defense in "ATO" will receive 17,000 hryvnia (about 560 Euros).

That's the value of human life at the moment in Ukraine. We recall thousands of UAF soldiers marched into the grinder, where they met their fates. Mobilizations ever since have been problematic ever since, to say the least.

Starting in 2017, Ukraine will have the lowest official salaries in Europe, according to calculations by lawmaker Oleksander Vilkul.

On March 2, 2015, the Ukrainian government passed amendments to its 2015 budget that will cripple the economic well being of most Ukrainians, but satisfy the International Monetary Fund (IMF). At the cost of their pensions, tax increases, sky-rocketing energy bills, and a re-organized banking sector, Ukrainians are now poised to get an IMF-led bailout of up to $40 billion. These austerity measures will have a huge adverse impact – with inflation soaring, many citizens of Ukraine already face dwindling financial reserves. Increases in taxes, energy bills, and lost pensions, are enough to throw any family into financial turmoil.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian politicians and economists have begun investigating the conditions attached to the IMF's recent $1 billion loan tranche, and are discovering that more austerity reforms are the order of the day.
