Following on from the confirmation that the Syrian Army remain approximately 5km from the lifting the ISIS-imposed siege on the eastern Syrian city of Deir Ezzor, an important settlement has been liberated by the pro-government forces.
The Syrian Army led by the Republican Guards and the Taha Regiment of the Tiger forces have taken full control of Kobajib.
The capture of Kobajib now puts the Syrian Army 52km from Deir Ezzor from this axis, and 19km from the imperative town from al-Shula.
The Syrian Army are now driving towards al-Shula to liberate the town from the terrorist group. The liberation of al-Shula will also put the government forces within easy each of many imperative oil fields that will further help the war effort for the Syrian government.
