Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday will visit the Turkish capital of Ankara to meet with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, with a major discussion point being the situation in Syria, Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
"Besides, the countries cooperate in ensuring regional security, including in Syria," he said, adding that the two leaders will "synchronize watches on all these issues."
The Turkish leader said he plans to discuss with Putin about the jihadist-held Idlib province in Syria that straddles on a part of Turkey's border.
