Russian President Vladimir Putin at a news conference on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in China on Tuesday said that “He is not my bride, and I’m not his groom," when quizzed by a reporter whether the Russian president was "disappointed" with US President Donald Trump.

“Trump is guided by the national interests of his country, and I by mine. I very much hope that we will be able, as the current US president has said, to reach some compromise in resolving bilateral and international problems,” the Russian president added.

He then refused to comment on a potential impeachment of Trump, highlighting that it would be “absolutely wrong” to discuss US domestic politics.
