Local news sources in the eastern Syrian province of Deir Ezzor have been reporting that they can hear intense Russian airstrikes against ISIS positions.
Deir Ezzor 24 News tweeted that airstrikes have been targeting towns and cities in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside despite the current sandstorm inconveniencing the area.
The news service also said that the airstrikes that have been creating loud explosions have been heard for the past two hours.
The series of tweets went onto explain that the majority of explains could be held in al-Mayadeen where the Syrian Army are currently engaged in violent battles with ISIS to liberate their former stronghold.
Explosions could also be heard from Quriyah, with one airstrike striking a nearby Euphrates River crossing.
