Syrian people are saying their last goodbyes to their beloved Major General Issam Zahreddine who was martyred earlier today after his vehicle struck a land mine while conducting a special operation in the eastern province of Deir Ez Zour.
Major General Zahreddine was the commander of the elite 104th Airborne Brigade of the Republican Guard and scored several major victories against ISIS and other terrorist groups.
His actions changed the course of the Syrian war on multiple occasions.
On September 5th, 2017, the Syrian President Bashar Al Assad congratulated Major General Zahreddine for his role in lifting the 3-year siege of Deir Ez Zour city imposed by ISIS terrorists.
Zahreddine's body has already arrived in his hometown of Tarba in As Suwayda province where he will soon be buried.
